HEALTHCARE TOPIC OF THE WEEK

Flouride and children......is it safe?

Dear nurse,

My child has terrible plantars warts on his feet.  I have tried all the regular treatments other than surgery or "freezing" them off.  Any suggestions?       anonymous

Dear anonymous,     I have a son who experienced them over the summer months due to playing in water so much.  We used garlic, and it went away within 1 week.  We rubbed a fresh peeled clove of garlic (scrape the outer casing to release juices) onto his plantars warts.  We applied it at bedtime, so he wouldn't walk on it and rub it off.  It was a miracle cure!  Garlic is a natural antibiotic and antiviral.  It is effective against HPV which is the source of the plantar wart virus.  The warts dried up within a week without any effort or pain.  Please consult your doctor for medical advice, but the garlic was a quick and painless cure for us!  God Bless!  Christine RN, BSN
